How to find Iron Golem
Villages (spawns automatically when villagers meet the requirements) and caged at some pillager outposts. Players can also build one.
Spawn conditions: Java: villagers that have slept and worked spawn golems when none is detected nearby (panicking villagers spawn them faster). Bedrock: 10+ villagers linked to 20+ beds. Player-built: T of 4 iron blocks with a carved pumpkin placed last.

How to kill Iron Golem
Pillar up 3+ blocks so it cannot reach you and hit its feet. Avoid killing village golems near a trading hall you still use - prices rise. Build your own with 4 iron blocks in a T plus a carved pumpkin on top.
Behavior
Patrols villages and attacks most hostile mobs on sight, plus players who attack it or villagers. Huge knockback - it throws targets into the air. Cracks as it takes damage; repair it with iron ingots.
Taming and breeding
Cannot be tamed or bred, but a player-built golem never attacks its creator.
