Quick answer: Increases melee damage. In Java Edition each level adds 0.5 x level + 0.5 extra damage (Sharpness V = +3); in Bedrock it adds 1.25 damage per level (Sharpness V = +6.25).

How to get Sharpness
- Enchanting table (all levels)
- Enchanted books from loot chests, fishing, librarian villagers and bartering
- Combine in an anvil
Best uses
The default damage enchantment for your main sword or axe, since it works against every mob.
Incompatible with
Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Density (Java, mace), Breach (Java, mace) - an item can only hold one of these.
